ADIN, spearheads the forefront of a flurry of talented techno producers to come out of the Netherlands. But unlike a large wealth of his native counterparts, Adin’s story has seen the DJ craft his unique sonic style through a colourful past, and amalgamation between the dark and light of his life.

Making a rapid and far-reaching impact on the electronic music scene over the course of his double-decade career, it was the move from Ajdin’s war-torn birthplace of Bosnia to a Rotterdam record store in his youth that marked the first stepping stone on his eventual ladder to success. Taking early inspiration from iconic producers such as Masters At Work, Roger Sanchez and Erick Morillo, it was his dub mix of Sandy Rivera’s ‘Freak’ on Simon Dunmore’s Defected Records that was championed all over the scene.

more

By 2007, Ajdin had become one of the most in-demand artists in the business, touring worldwide with a schedule of more than 30 shows per month. A technical wizard on the decks, his obsession with house, techno and multiple sub-genres shone through immediately. Stepping things up a notch, it was a meeting with Pasquale Rotella that changed the course of Ajdin’s future as he switched the melodic sounds of his EDC NY set to more dark and industrial tones half-way through the performance. The brave and somewhat adventurous gamble was wholeheartedly rewarded, with Ajdin’s performance ranked as one of Rolling Stone’s “25 raviest moments of EDC.” Always one to go with the moment rather than to meticulously plan out sets, it is this party-ready approach that saw him become a key member of Insomniac’s events early on, playing further sets at EDC Orlando, Mexico, Japan and the Las Vegas showpiece event. Now firmly established as one of Holland’s finest techno exports, Ajdin has also performed at Mysteryland, Sensation, Creamfields, Elrow, the iconic Womb Tokyo venue, Free Your Mind Festival and Free Your Mind with Sasha and John Digweed.

Having honed his craft on vinyl long before his 2004 debut in the production studio, ADIN has amassed universal plaudits via his insatiable back catalogue, vibrant track selections and instinctive ability to read a crowd. Making incredible music that resonates further than just the confines of gruff dancefloor beats, Ajdin’s ADIN alias has garnered a reputation as an innovative and forward-thinking producer & DJ, fusing his driven tones with an emotional blend of melodic techno. Carving a niche signature sound which has seen the Dutch artist amass the support of the finest names in the underground scene, including Joris Voorn, Nic Fanciulli, Maya Jane Coles, Richie Hawtin, Hot Since 82, and Josh Butler, ADIN is also the founder of his own ADIN Records imprint.

With the label playing host to his sumptuous mix of warm underground music, including tracks like ‘Fargo,’ ‘Adria’, and ‘Alive’, ADIN’s infectious devotion to house and techno has found a true calling after many years spent spreading his powerful production prowess across the studio, with deep influenced records that resonate broadly with a respective nod to the producer’s past.

Diversifying his musical output through a combination of atmospheric tracks, ADIN faces 2018 and beyond with a fresh impetus, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the career of the revered producer. Amassing a reputation as an important purveyor of international techno that resonates broadly, ADIN has established himself as a passionate contributor to the scene, cementing his place as one of the genre’s premiere names.

A guiding light. A common language. A connection. All those things epitomize AVIRA’s approach to dance music and the effect he has on his global following. Tickling the sweet spot between left-field melodic techno and genuine dance floor appeal, his music exudes a sense of purpose that appeals to casual listeners and purists alike, making the Canadian creator one of the most exciting acts in dance music today.

more

Born in Kuwait, raised in Egypt and bred in Canada after moving there when he was eight years old, AVIRA wasn’t remarkably obsessed with music throughout his formative years. That is, until he got tasked with creating a short-movie soundtrack as an assignment in high school and discovered Tiësto’s ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ series on a local radio station in Toronto. The combination of those two things struck a chord in him, pushing him to sit down at his computer and spend every bit of spare time on his new-found interest. He hasn’t gotten off that computer since.

“Music completely changed my life”, AVIRA explains. “As I started taking more and more steps into this amazing new world, I began to understand the effect music can have on people’s lives. And to me, that’s exactly what music is about. It’s about emotional release, about making an impact. It’s the perfect medicine for the mind, and I feel like everyone in the world needs a little bit of that. If I can get as many people into a room as possible and have them open up to my ideas, it can be a healing experience that brings people closer together.”

Recent tracks such as ‘The Worship’ (feat. Diana Miro) and ‘Hollow’ (with Armin van Buuren), which AVIRA singles out as his best work to date, are built on that notion. “With these two records, I feel like I’m finally finding my voice. I’ve been making music for almost two decades now, and I’ve had my records played on A State Of Trance as Assaf for nearly eight years. Coming from that background, I feel that my records will always bear a hint of Trance euphoria, and shifting the focus from Assaf to AVIRA has allowed me to connect with an even wider audience. What matters to me is that I can be the person they go to when they want to feel something, that I can be the captain to their musical journey and a global ambassador for dance music. And if my music can inspire them as others have inspired me, if it can help them find their way just like it helped me find mine, I’ll have fulfilled my own purpose as well.”

As a performer, Armin had headlined countless shows at leading festivals and venues around the world, including Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas, New York), Ultra Music Festival (Miami) and Tomorrowland (Belgium) plus residencies at Hï Ibiza, in Las Vegas and numerous others.

To Joachim Pastor, music isn’t about the hypes, trends or the weekly special. The French DJ, producer and Hungry Music founder has been casting aside music world mania in favor of a timeless sound since first breaking into the scene, and the upcoming release of his debut album sees the recent Armada Music signee push into a new chapter with that exact trademark.

A true perfectionist when it comes to the quality of his product, Joachim Pastor studied at the Versailles conservatory between the ages of 4 and 15.

more

Near the end of his time at the conservatory, when his hopes of playing guitar in a band had started to grey out due to the sheer impracticality of it all, he started downloading music software with the intention of creating his own virtual band to play guitar with.

That one thing led to another, and Joachim Pastor’s music has been sporting an electronic edge ever since. Inspired by the works of seminal artists such as Daft Punk, Sonata Arctica and Jean-Michel Jarre, Joachim Pastor’s melodious brand of electronica offers a sense of sophistication not easily found in today’s music world.

Designed to make listeners feel with every fiber of their being, his music is an expression of emotion with a danceable twist, endorsed by hundreds of thousands of fans on Spotify alone as well those who witnessed his performances at the likes of Dour, Tomorrowland, Paleo, Olympia, Solidays, DGTL, Pleinvrees and more. Now on the verge of presenting his first-ever album, Joachim Pastor continues to produce the music he wants to.

And if the initial response is anything to go by, that album provides exactly the kind of music that will withstand the test of time.

The talented music producer and DJ has been touted by the likes of Tiësto, David Guetta, MORTEN, Afrojack, DVBBS, Carnage, W&W, Steve Aoki and many more. Now as he confirms rumours of a record deal with none other than Spinnin’ Records, the path looks clear for him to capitalise on his early promise and rise through the ranks to the highest levels of electronica.

As with any artist who manages to break through into the A-list elite, Justus’ success is in equal parts down to musical talent and laser-focused, at times dogged, determination to forge a career in dance music.

more

An all-ages Afrojack show at Amsterdam’s legendary Ziggo Dome in 2014 opened the eyes of a then 14-year-old Justus to the explosive energy of an all-out, topflight electronic artist in full flow in front of a crowd of thousands. Mastering the DJ booth, Justus moved on to the studio, a natural affinity for music production backed up by six years’ practicing the drums. In 2017, the teenager took a bet on himself, leaving school behind and putting himself 100% into his music.

As his sound starts to naturally mature and develop, Justus is absolutely hitting his stride as a producer and a performer, diving into a new vein of rhythm and groove that sits somewhere in the space between Tiësto-style Trance and Amelie Lens’ brand of Techno. With much, much more in the pipeline for 2022, it surely is an exciting time for fans of this talented Dutch youngster.

At just 24 years of age, Maurice West has unquestionably solidified his name among some of the most promising producers in the dance music space. Maurice found his musical upbringing in a household of talented musicians and quickly took to the piano, guitar and drums. At an early stage in his career, the Dutch native caught the eye of veteran duo W&W and was immediately taken under their wing with a deal on their Mainstage Music imprint. His instantaneously recognizable bigroom and progressive sound has led to countless releases alongside some of the industry’s most in-demand names over the years, including Tiësto, Hardwell, Steve Aoki, KSHMR and D-Block & S-Te-Fan.

more

2018 was another unmistakably banner calendar for Maurice West, as his official Cascada remix with Hardwell for ‘Everytime We Touch’ and ‘Rhythm Of The Night’ single were two of the most widely-supported productions throughout the entirety of festival season. He graced the stage at both Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland where he made an appearance on its glorious mainstage for the second consecutive year. Maurice proceeded to cap off 2018 with an anthem for the ages on W&W’s Rave Culture with ‘The Kick’ and has remained a notable staple across an extensive list of DJ performances.

Looking to somehow top the previous 12 months, Maurice ignited 2019 with his take on Planet Perfecto Knights’ iconic trance production ‘ResuRection’, which was immediately supported by the legend Armin van Buuren during ASOT. If the multitude of chart-topping releases weren’t enough to convince listeners of his ability to hold his own in the studio, he recently completed the notorious SLAM! Studio Challenge where he was tasked with creating a full production in just one hour. The Dutch talent is now fresh off the release of his highly-anticipated W&W collaboration ‘Matrix’ as he continues to pick up an impressive amount of momentum as another summer of festivals rapidly approaches.

Based in San Francisco, 24-year-old visionary Spencer Brown creates forward-thinking dance music that defies quick-shifting industry trends, carving his fresh take on the progressive space by creating earworms that incorporate authenticity with accessibility.

more

After Above & Beyond discovered Spencer through his graceful 2014 debut release “Chalice EP” on Avicii’s LE7ELS (garnering over 1.5 million listens), a string of successful EPs on their legendary Anjunabeats label led to his chart-topping iTunes #1 2018 debut album “Illusion of Perfection,” presented in a continuous mix. This mix-album journey was Spencer’s creative response to the modern era of pumping out saturated radio-edited singles, something from which Spencer shies away. Spencer’s darker follow-up, “Windows 95 on Acid EP,” was released on deadmau5’s mau5trap label and caught the eye of countless techno tastemakers.

Having received diverse DJ & radio support from Avicii, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Sasha, Pete Tong, Don Diablo, Hardwell, Danny Howard, Adriatique, Paco Osuna, Dubfire, John Digweed, Getter, Seven Lions, Gareth Emery, and more, Spencer continues to showcase the diversity of his productions ranging from house to techno, trance to deep house, all the while encapsulating his unique progressive flow.

Outside of the studio, Spencer is no stranger to the road. After making his live debut at Avicii’s 2013 Hollywood Bowl show, Spencer was invited to tour across North America on Avicii’s True Tour in stadiums such as Barclay’s Center, TD Garden, and Rogers’ Centre. This extensive touring was done while studying Electrical & Computer Engineering at the prestigious Duke University, where he graduated with distinction in 2016 after publishing a 47-page thesis on omnidirectional loudspeakers.

With over 10 years of DJing under his belt, Spencer’s live brilliance is rooted in his renovation of the classical ideology focusing on reading the room and defiance of premade sets to create an unparalleled journey mostly comprised of his original material. Following up his opening for Above & Beyond’s colossal 2018 Common Ground tour (in venues such as the LA Convention Center), Spencer embarked on his own mammoth international headline “Illusion of Perfection” tour to support his mixalbum, packed with 3 to 6 hour sold-out extended and open-to-close marathon sets. After proving himself on the previous North American Above & Beyond tour, they invited him to join for the entirety of both their Australian and European tours to finish off 2018.

His passionate, ever-growing fanbase has opened the door to playing at top festivals around the world, such as Tomorrowland Belgium, EDC Las Vegas, Electric Zoo NYC, Global Dance Denver, Ile Soniq Montreal, Dreams Fest Toronto, Electric Festival Helsinki, Creamfields UK, and many more. In addition to the festival circuit, Spencer has been invited to play some of the most renowned clubs in the world, such as Output Brooklyn, Echostage DC, Space Miami, and Hï Ibiza (invited by Armin van Buuren).

Spencer recently launched a new concept of parties called “Extended Sunsets,” where he plays open-air extended sets beginning a couple hours before sunset and playing into the darkness, creating an organic experience in harmony with the beauty nature. In the future, these parties may be held on rooftops, in forests, on beaches, or anywhere else with a beautiful sunset backdrop. The first installment, held at Hotel Via Rooftop in San Francisco, completely sold out in 4 hours.

Spencer’s relentless work ethic and production prolificacy, crystal clear vision, extensive A-List DJ support, and forward thinking compositions forecast a breakthrough as he continues to deliver ambitious performances that can stand the test of time.

Inspired by funky sounds and grooves from the 80s yet sculpted into a 21st century unique sound, Thomas Nan is blazing through Spotify playlists and radioshows with his quality productions. Receiving steady support from no other than Martin Garrix, Sam Feldt, Tiësto, Nicky Romero, Hardwell, The Chainsmokers, Laidback Luke and Dutch ra dio stations Radio 538 and SLAM.fm indicate Thomas Nan is more than ready to make his mark on 2021!

more

Loading chapter one

2020 was filled with notable musical highs for the self taught DJ/producer. His twelve (!) releases, varying from an official remix for Lulleaux & Strobe – Limbo (Heartfeldt/Spinnin Records) personal gem Homeless (Mixmash Deep) and the well received remix for Kea nu Silva – Troubles (Mixmash Records) were just a prelude to what Thomas had planned for 2021. His first release of this year was a huge personal milestone: an official remix for Laidback Luke – Dance It Off (Mixmash Records). But, no rest for the wicked since Thomas dropped Don’t Know Me together with Max Vermeulen (Soave Records) a mere month later! All his tracks have a signature sound to them that is typically Nan, but more importantly, they contain an undeniable catchiness you can only hear in Thomas’ relea ses.

– Sam Feldt remix Home Sweet Home

Every tune Nan drops is definitely a step up and a huge opportunity presented itself when Thomas got his hands on Sam Feldt – Home Sweet Home. Sam fell in love with the viby spin Thomas gave to his track and got released as an official Thomas Nan remix on Heartfeldt/Spinnin Records this (March/April/May). Already receiving support from xx and xx this one will surely be heard in playlists and livesets all summer long!

With musical inspiration reaching beyond dance genres, modern day influences from The Weekend and Dua Lipa are mixed with an eclectic grooviness you can only find in the 80s. Blending these influences with Thomas his own creativity creates a sound that is not only main-stage material but also 100% radio ready.

In hindsight, 2019 productions like Neighborhood (+1M plays), Left Alone (+580K plays) – both on Soave Records – or the future house Feel It on Panther’s Groove (+750K plays) already displayed Thomas Nan’s skills in the studio. While his signature sound has evol ved, all tracks showcase stellar production skills and boost that recognisable funky Tho mas Nan flavour.

Making the connection

Thomas got an early taste of what it was like to spin in a big club when he was still in high school. Starting out in Amsterdam’s renowned club De Melkweg his first DJ set was a fact back in 2014. Add to this his most recent appearances in Sam Feldt’s Goodbye 2020 ce lebration and Insomniac pres. Laidback Luke & Friends liveset, it shows that Thomas is enjoying every minute behind the decks. Making an energetic connection with his audien ce is important to him and not only when he is DJing. His online following is a daily gro wing dedicated fanbase who connect and relate with Thomas on a very personal level. These personal qualities define him as an artist making him unique in a very humble and down to earth way.

The first beats

Like many great musical narratives Thomas his story started in his bedroom fooling around with some production programs. Being heavily influenced by his older brother, who listened to Avicii and the Swedish House Mafia, at the age of 14 Thomas quickly rea lised creating music was something else. It sparked something inside him. Regular school assignments seemed useless when there was so much to explore in the realm of music production and DJ-ing. The next logical step? Skip the usual path laid out for boys his age and pursue his musical dreams. Working hard in his home studio got him accepted onto the renowned Herman Brood Academy in The Netherlands. In the years that follo wed he worked on his personal style and skills before eventually graduating in 2020. Hungry for more knowledge, Thomas is now enrolled at the conservatory in Haarlem (NL) which educates him further to become an even more evolved and skilled producer.

What the future holds

When you combine Thomas Nan’s production skills with his creative musical mind and top it off with an engaging personality on and off stage, you look at the future of the dance industry. Receiving huge support from influential colleagues on his releases that boost a unique groovy signature sound, Thomas Nan his story is not just unfolding – it is quickly becoming a pageturner you don’t want to put down!

The Netherlands has long been considered a fertile breeding ground for electronic music, and one man who’s very much indicative of the country’s new era of talent is Toman. Now based in Amsterdam, he moved to the Dutch capital in early 2018 — and has barely had time to pause for breath since.

more

A producer who boasts an impressively prolific streak, Toman started his musical journey at an early age. More recently, his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets such as We R House, Cyclic, Blind Vision and Inermu, yet Toman’s story is no overnight success. On the contrary, his is one that that’s as attributable to a ceaseless work ethic as it is a supportive. music-loving upbringing as well as an unyielding love of music.

Fascinated by all things percussion, Toman began learning the drums in his early teens, a move that would eventually steer him toward what he considers the “unrestrictive complexities of electronic music”. A producer with an endlessly eclectic palette, Toman cites the likes of Underworld, Minilogue, and Terry Lee Brown Jr as influences, all of whom attest in some way to his own eclectic palette. From minimal to tech-house to house and deeper sounds, Toman’s diverse musical outlook is refreshingly hard to categorise.

In 2017, Toman’s first solo EP arrived courtesy of Mihai Popoviciu’s much-respected Cyclic. An ear-catching release that introduced us to a prodigious young talent, it was an impressive sign of things to come. Looking forward, Toman recently signed his debut vinyl EP to Cinthie’s much-loved we_r house label, with the Broodrooster EP supported by a diverse cast of globally-respected DJs such as Archie Hamilton, Terry Francis, Roger Gerressen, Rossko, Dorian Paic, Traumer, Waze & Odyssey, Alexi Delano and Eric Cloutier.

In between studio sessions, Toman continues to tour as a DJ, with bookings across his the Netherlands including the likes of Awakenings and Straf_werk festival. Outside of his native country he has also thrown it down it esteemed German clubs such as Berlin’s Watergate and Leipzig’s Distillery, in between playing in Zurich, Manchester and Bucharest to name a few. There’s no doubting that Toman is an individual beginning to leave his musical mark on the international scene. Watch out for him in a city near you soon.

Pioneering Melbourne Bounce, a sub genre of EDM affectionately named after his Australian hometown; making countless laps around the globe playing the world’s most reputable stages including Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland; finding himself time and time again at the top of the dance music charts with double Platinum records; amassing an inconceivable 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify and aligning himself with brands for lucrative sponsorship deals all before the ripe young age of 26, SPARKS knew there was something more to life for him from a very young age, and boy did the industry know that too.

Kicking his career off in 2012, SPARKS was named ‘Best Breakthrough Artist’ in 2013 via leading Australian music publication inthemix, who then crowned him Australia’s #1 DJ the following year at the 2014 inthemix awards. To top that off, SPARKS then scored global recognition as one of ‘Billboard Magazine’s 10 most exciting young talents’ and ranked in DJ Mag’s top 100 DJs in the world for three consecutive years.

The double Platinum producer has shaken up the charts as much as he’s shaken up the streaming world. After releasing his iconic ‘Ah Yeah’, the track shot straight to #3 on Beatport and effortlessly hit double platinum. Still riding the wave of his first release’s success, SPARKS then dropped ‘Bring it Back’, and brought it home again with the single going platinum.

Amassing over 500million+ streams across Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube alone, it’s no wonder SPARKS built independent record label ‘Bourne Recordings’ out of necessity with iconic dance music empire Ministry of Sound Australia (now TMRW Music), and his management and booking agency Lucky Entertainment. Since its inception, the label has humbly claimed multiple Gold and Platinum records and released the likes of TYRON HAPI, LISTER, YROR!, MASKED WOLF, KENYON BROWN and JLEO as well as SPARKS own recordings which have seen countless Beatport Top 10’s and contributed to the millions of streams across all platforms.

SPARKS is moving at a pace that’s synonymous with his sky’s the limit attitude, as he steps into another huge year of international touring as well as his second MTV mini series due for release in the second half of 2020. Don’t blink, because you’ll miss what SPARKS gets up to next.

After meeting up back in 2007 Willem van Hanegem & Ward van der Harst came together to form W&W and they haven’t looked back since. Fusing styles and mixing influences, W&W combine the uplifting and melodic elements of trance with the raw intensity of electro and progressiveness of house to create a sound that is uniquely their own. Infectious, rebellious and highly energetic, their list of productions is championed by the likes of Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta and more for its breadth, diversity and massive appeal to multiple audiences.

From their earlier works like the synth-driven ‘Moscow’ and floor pounding ‘Shotgun’, to later projects like ‘Invasion’, ‘Lift Off’, the embodiment of their multidimensional sound, ‘D# Fat’ with Armin van Buuren, the massive ‘Jumper’ with Hardwell, Beatport #1 smash ‘The Code’ with Ummet Ozcan (which became the most played track of Miami Music Week 2013), their chart topping remix of Armin van Buuren’s ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ and the official Amsterdam Music Festival anthem ‘Thunder’, these tracks have more than 10 million plays on Spotify; it’s clear each of the tunes leaving the W&W studio is a sure-shot of dance floor thrill.

W&W were the first ever dance music act to perform at a Major League Baseball stadium when they took over Philadelphia Phillies Citizen’s Bank Ball Park for a two-hour set. If that wasn’t enough, W&W continues to prove their status as innovators and tastemakers in the scene by also curating music for their Mainstage Music label, which released tracks from Armin van Buuren, Headhunterz, Dash Berlin, 3LAU, Andrew Rayel, Tritonal, Sick Individuals and many more!

They started 2016 with ‘Arcade’ a new collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and a vocal solo single ‘How Many’. Next to those their special ‘Festival Mixes’ of Justin Bieber’s Sorry and Adele’s ‘Hello’ have also been doing major damage recently, with the former proving one of the highlights of their killer Ultra Music Festival set in Miami. With over 2.000.000 plays on YouTube, their set has become one of the Top 5 most watched of the entire event.

In a world where genres and rule books aren’t part of the plan, you’ll find the Dutch duo Zonderling, comprised of producer Martijn van Sonderen and DJ Jaap de Vries.
Zonderling have created their own version of today’s electronic dance music. Freaky sounds by a headstrong duo working on musical impulses, leading to a streak of powerful releases with a character of their own.

Their sound could be described as unusual but gratifyingly captivating. Whether it’s Don Diablo’s edit of ‘Tunnel Vision’, numerous remixes for the likes of Martin Garrix, Zedd and Sam Feldt amongst others, the housy banger collaboration ‘Lee’ with MOGUAI on Oliver Helden’s Heldeep Records, or their recent collaboration with Belgian producer Lost Frequencies on the hit single ‘Crazy’ (over 126 million Spotify plays at time of writing), Zonderling is getting support from every angle.

So, on the big stage their name shines in bright lights everywhere from Tomorrowland and EDC Orlando to World Club Dome and Sziget. Throw in appearances at venues like Ushuaïa Ibiza, New Gas City in Montreal and Bootshaus in Germany which sees them chalking up some serious club dates during their time, and Zonderling might be rightly punching into the big league in the coming year!
